Kalanlar - Yeşim Özsoy

Set in the southern Turkish city of Adana on a hot day, this tragicomic play about absence and remaining revolves around five women who gather in the home of the late Mrs. Şükran to sort through her belongings. The play explores their relationships with the objects—and with one another.
What does someone leave behind when they go?
What remains of what they leave?
Who belongs to whom?
How long does one remain within another?

The Remainings, one of GalataPerform’s standout productions of the season, tells the story of five women who come together in a house of mourning in Adana on a sweltering day in the south of Turkey.
The play won the “Play of the Year” award at the New Text Festival 8 organized by GalataPerform in 2019.
The cast features Nilay Erdönmez, Elif Ongan Tekçe, Enginay Gültekin, Kübra Balcan, and screen actress Suna Keskin.

Contemporary artist Eda Soylu is responsible for the stage design, creating an installation structure that transforms through objects on stage.
The short film at the beginning of the play is directed by Özgürcan Uzunyaşa, who received the Special Jury Prize in the Short Film category at this year’s Golden Orange Awards.
