Deserted Shores // Negative Photographs (2020) - Yesim Ozsoy

“Deserted Shores // Negative Photographs” creates an aesthetic born from the fusion of sound design, performance, and installation, aiming to transform its venue through contemporary theatrical tools.

The team sets out to rethink and reimagine the relationship between audience space and stage, thereby opening a discussion on the two fundamental elements of theater. In this performance—where the actor’s body and voice form a unified whole with all other theatrical elements—a narrative is constructed around a family dinner that never manages to bring the family together.

As the performance space is redesigned to trace the fragments of a family’s past, the audience will be able to experience this multimedia performance both as a 10-minute short play and through a 360-degree virtual tour.
