About the Play:

They were happy with the forms that the system had transformed them into. If none of them disrupted the play, they would have lived happily ever after… The play that takes place at the notary, one of the institutions where the individual comes face to face with the state, is based on the gaps and silences between the state and the person. In ‘Notary,’ which reveals the visible structure of today’s Turkey, the encounters within a framework where the state is held superior to the individual are depicted. The individual’s cry for help, often silenced, suppressed, or even killed for various reasons in contemporary Turkey, pervades the entire play, especially its surprising ending.
